Marléne Smith

Marlene Smith Co-Founder Andover Therapy / Chartered Physiotherapist

Marléne qualified in 1994 at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.  Following her training she started her career at 1 Military Hospital in Pretoria where she did her rotations in the three core areas of Physiotherapy over two years.  She thereafter ventured into private practice working across South Africa in different private hospitals and practices.

Marléne came to the UK as a locum Physiotherapist in 1998 working across the UK in the National Health in various Physiotherapy departments and treating a variety of conditions before finally immigrating to the United Kingdom in 2000.  She settled at Andover War Memorial Hospital for the following 10 years in which time she also started a family.   It became clear that her passion was to treat musculo-skeletal conditions and sports injuries and subsequently have been specialising in this area over the past 15 years.  During her time in the NHS she joined a specialist group of Physiotherapists, working alongside Consultants doing triaging for knee conditions.

Marléne started out in private practice in 2006 alongside her NHS commitments and eventually decided to pursue and build her dream of a multi-disciplinary clinic with a holistic approach of various clinicians offering a variety of treatments.

She is very passionate about Physiotherapy in general, but specifically about her area of interest and enjoys the outcome of being able to support and to help clients to manage their injuries on route to recovery. She is very keen to develop the business over the next 5 years to its full potential and is striving with her team to give the local community the best service they can.
